ECONOMY, Aug. 21 - Wednesday evening, August 9, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Penfield Priest, Economy, was the scene of a pretty wedding when their daughter, Lois Isabell, was united in marriage to Ralph Burton Gamble, son of Mr and Mrs. H. R. Gamble, of Upper Economy, by Rev. Arthur Wallis, B. A.; pastor of the United Church, Economy.
The marriage was preformed under an arch of roses, centred by two white bells.
Miss Betty Priest acted as bridesmaid for her sister and Kenneth E. Gamble brother of the groom, was best man. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Miss Melissa Moore played introductory music and the Wedding March.
The bride wore a white satin and lace dress, floor length, with three guarter length veil and carried a bouguet of pink roses, baby mums and ferns, with hat and accessories to match.
The bride's mother was dressed in printed jersey with a corsage of pink roses and fern. The grooms mother was dressed in grey silk crepe with a corsage of pink roses.
The bride's gift to the bridesmaid was a pearl necklace; to the organist a sum of money. The groom's gift to the bride was a three strand pearl necklace and to the best man a lighter.
The wedding reception was attended by some 100 guests, including relatives and friends from Springhill, Parrsboro, Oxford, West Branch, Masstown, Truro and Halifax.
After a short honeymoon is Nova Scotia the young couple left for the Toronto where they will reside for a time.
