At the graduation exercises of the Oxford High School on June 18, Miss Eleanor HICKMAN, valedictorian of the graduating class, was given the sixth annual award of the Reader's Digest Association for students who by their successful school work, give promise of attaining leadership in the community.

Died - Mrs. Joseph HELM, the former Miss HUNSLEY of East Leicester, 81, June 15, at Tidnish Bridge.

LOCKHART, Earl James, 85 Westchester Staion, Saturday, June 15, 2013.  Born in Five Islands, son of the late Basil and Ada (Lewis) Lockhart.  Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Ella (Langille) Lockhart; son, Winston "Jake" (Susan) Lockhart, Truro; sister, Pearl Hoeg, Amherst.  Predeceased by sons, James in infancy and Perry Lockhart; grandson, James; great-granddaughter, Emily; brother, Sidney; daughter-in-law, Joyce; brother-in-law, Aubrey.  (Obit has photo)
