Vance, Lesley Lynn - 48, Milford, passed away September 20, 2013, our
special mom and beloved baby sister passed after a brief but valiant
struggle with lung cancer. Affectionately known as ³Leddie², she loved to
help others and was a cherished friend to many. Lesley managed to maintain
her quick wit and sense of humour throughout her ordeal and was happiest
when surrounded by family. Lesley¹s love, compassion and empathy for people
led her to a life-long career in nursing as well as a flourishing foot care
business. Lesley always had the teapot on and made time to lend an ear to
friends and family when needed. Lesley-We will hold you together within our
hearts and there you will remain to walk with us throughout our lives until
we meet again. Lesley was predeceased by her Dad Lester and Mom Queenie
(Terris) Vance of Springhill. Left with fond memories of this wonderful
woman is her husband, John Long; sons, Mason and Nicholas of Milford;
sisters, Ann (Bob) Brown of Dartmouth; Lorna (Bill) Venus of Springhill;
Rose Vance of Springhill; numerous nephews and nieces. The family deeply
appreciates the kindness, understanding and support given by the Colchester
East Hants Regional Health Centre Palliative Care Unit, in particular Dr.
David Henderson and his amazing health care team. Visitation will be from
6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, with funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday,
September 25 all in MacDiarmid¹s Funeral Home, 5075 Main Street, Oxford
