SOMERSET, Kings County - Mrs. Gilbert Sherman, 64, of Somerset, died Tuesday in Blanchard-Fraser Memorial Hospital, Kentville.  Born at Hillaton, she was the former Matilda Christina Ryter, daughter of the late Alonzo and Margaret (Decoste) Ryter.  Surviving are 10 sons, Alex, Dartmouth; Elton, Harborville; Levi, Arthur, Cecil and Randy, all of Berwick; Eugene, Harley and Wayne, all of Ontario; Brian, Aylesford; four daughters, Leona (Mrs. Judson Thorpe), South Berwick; Myrna (Mrs. Roger Jones), Black Rock; Theresa (Mrs. Ray Atkins), Somerset; Mrs. Deborah Smith, Greenwood; three brothers, Alfred, Coldbrook; Edward, Toronto; Harley, Ontario; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie George, Canso; Mrs. Frances Carter, Ontario; Mrs. Lottie Best, British Columbia; Minnie (Mrs. Steve DeAdded), Ontario; 26 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  The body is at H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick.  Funeral service will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. from St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Berwick, Rev. A. d'Entremont officiating.  Interment will be in the Hillaton cemetery.  Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

I have his 1st wife as Eva Matilda Rafuse whose mother was Emily
Elizabeth McCullough from Port Greville.

I have his m/2 as Matilda Christian Rhynold from Canso.

At this time I don't know which children are from m/1 to be McCullough
descendents.

Sherman, Gilbert Alonzo - 90, Somerset, Kings Co., died December 15, 1994 at
home. Born in Canning, he was a son of the late John and Pauline (Webster)
Sherman. He was employed with M.W. Graves Limited for most of his life,
retiring in 1970. Surviving are sons, Alex, Halifax; Alton, Harbourville;
Levi, Cecil, Berwick; Arthur, New Glasgow, Harley, Eugene, Wayne, Ontario;
Randy, Black Rock; Brian, Aylesford; daughters, Lenora Thorpe, Myrna
Jones-Keddy, Debbie Veinot, Berwick; Theresa (Mrs. Ray Atkins), Waterville;
three brothers; one sister; 41 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren. He was
predeceased by his first wife, Eva Rafuse; second wife, Matilda Ryter[sic];
son, Leonard; eight brothers, four sisters; two grandchildren. Visitation
will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m., today in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Berwick, where
funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Rev. Gerald Saulnier officiating. Burial
in Hillaton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian
Cancer Society or any charity.
