You may find something in Newspaper Archives - I think they have a "single pay" for one newspaper item.

Subject: [nscumber] Marion G. Mattinson of Oxford

Marion G. Mattinson was born on 11-Sep-1906 in Oxford.  She married Carroll O. Morong and had 4 children.  One of those children was Joyce E. Morong (born 1930 in Mass., died 2002 in Calif.).

Although it appears that Joyce divorced her husband (Rev. Jet Elton Turner) in 1983, her 2002 obituary says:
Her husband was found bludgeoned to death at age 56 in 1984.  Two men were sentenced to state prison in connection with his slaying.

His California Death Registration lists:
Jet Elton Turner, b Mar 3, 1928 in Calif., d Jul 29, 1984 in San Diego aged 56 yrs.; mother's maiden name = Seaton.

Does anyone know a way to learn more about Rev. Turners unfortunate death?

Gerry
