JEFFERS, Dorothy M. - 86, of Parrsboro, Cumberland County, passed away Friday, April 6, 2001 at South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in New Canaan, Cumberland County, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Bertha (Quinn) Meldrum. She was a member of the Parrsboro Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by daughters, Rosella Fader, and husband, Gerald, Parrsboro; Bertha Rector, and husband, Basil, Parrsboro; sons, Leon, and wife, Leona, Oromocto, N.B.; George, Parrsboro; Floyd, and wife, Betty, Parrsboro; John, and wife, Belle, Zepher Hills, Florida; David, Vernon, British Columbia; brothers, Calvin and Stephen, both of British Columbia; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy; daughter, Linda; sons, Everett and Lee; three grandchildren, Kim, Gary, Paul; brothers, Cecil, Victor. Visitation from 7-9 p.m. today, April 9, with funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, Rev. Jim Bushell and Rev. Jeffrey White officiating. Burial in the Parrsboro United Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to South Cumberland Community Care Centre or to a charity of choice.

Thank You.

That simplifies things a bit.

I was looking in a Yorke file belonging to another researcher and the two older daughters had the surname, Meldrum while the two younger sons had the surname Kinnear. All four children were born in the 1960’s bit Victor didn’t die until 1974.

HARRISON SETTLEMENT - Friends in this area were shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Victor C. Meldrum, 35, on Thursday, October 17, at his home.
Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of Edna and the late Claude Meldrum.
Besides his mother he is survived by his wife, the former Beryl Pettigrew; two daughters, Sarah and Brenda, and two sons; Michael and Timothy, all at home; two sisters, Dorothy (Mrs. Roy Jeffers), Parrsboro, and Anna Pettigrew, Whitehorse, Yukon; three brothers, Stephen, Calvin and Freeman, all of British Columbia.
The body rested at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where the funeral service was held Sunday, Oct. 20 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Parker Matheson, officiating. Burial was in the United Church Cemetery, Parrsboro.
