Emelyn Strang Sawyer (d/o Ephraim and Martha Embree Strang) and her son Malcolm Strang Swayer and his wife.

Private graveside services for Mrs Emelyn ( Strang) Sawyer, 99 of Woburn, a resident of that community for nearly 80 years, will be held today at 2, a Mt Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. A native of Tidnish Bridge, New Brunswick, she died Sunday. The oldest member of the First Congregational Church, Woburn, she had served as deaconess for 20 years. She also had been a volunteer at Choate Hospital, an honoary member of the Woburn Women's Club, a founder of the local Girl Scout troop and a recipient of a 50 year pin from the American Red Cross. She leaves a daughter Mrs Priscilla Lord of Marblehead and a son Malcolm S of Woburn. Bixby Funeral home is handling arrangements.

Serices for Malcolm S Sawyer 63, of Boca Raton, Fla., retired owner of a Woburn Insurance Firm, will be held be held today in the Babione Funeral Home, Boca Raton. He died Wednesday at Boca Raton Community Hospital after a long illness. A graduate of Boston University School of Business Administration and a veteran of World War II, he moved to Boca Raton four years ago. He was active in the masons and Rotary International was a member of the Mumford Historical Society and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. He leaves his wife Edna, three sons William of Fort Pierce Fla., Robert of Bedford, and John of Woburn and a sister Mrs Phillip Lord of Marblehead.

EXETER - Edna F. Sawyer, 86, of Coach Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at the Exeter Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born April 10, 1917, in Woburn, Mass., the daughter of the late William and Jessie Zealia (Little) Finethy. Mrs. Sawyer grew up in Woburn, spent several years living in Boca Raton, Fla., and resided in Exeter for the past 12 years. The widow of Malcolm S. Sawyer, who died in 1981, she is survived by two sons, John P. Sawyer or Rye and William H. Sawyer of Florida; a sister, Barbara Kerrigan of Exeter; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Robert D. Sawyer, who died in 2000. Private services will be held at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Mass. Donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.
Priscilla Alden (Sawyer) Lord died in 1991.I couldn't find an obituary for her but did discover that she was a well known herbalist and also had written a number of books on the arts and crafts of New England.
