OBITUARY: Mrs. Beatrice Tibbetts
Canning - Mrs. Beatrice Ellen Tibbetts, wife of Frederick W. Tibbetts,
Pereau, passed away at the Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital, Kentville,
following a months illness. Born in Pereau 37 years ago, she was the
daughter of David and Lauretta Warden Rogers. She attended school in Pereau
and for some years was employed in a nursing home in Saint John, N.B.,
before her marriage in 1941. Mrs. Tibbetts was a member of the Pereau
Baptist Church and a member of the Glooscap Rebecca Lodge, Canning. She took
an active part in church and community affairs. Surviving besides her
husband and father are seven children, Wanda, Doris, Sandra, Ellen, Laurie,
Kenneth and Eric, all at home; five brothers, Byron, Pinehurst, Mass.;
Howard, Avonport; John and Everett, Pereau; and William, California; seven
sisters, (Mrs. Evelyn Foss), Vancouver; Bessie (Mrs. Stanley Graves),
Toronto; Edith (Mrs. Donald Cameron), Moncton; Mrs. Gladys Ellis, Five
Islands; Mildred (Mrs. Gordon Schofield), Centerville; Jessie (Mrs. William
Schofield), Baxter's Harbour; and Catherine (Mrs. Waldo Hazel), Scotch
Village. The remains which are resting at H.C. Lindsay's Funeral Home,
Kentville will be taken to the Pereau Baptist Church for funeral service
Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Rev. Vincent Rushton will officiate.
Burial will be in the family lot in Pereau Cemetery. Glooscap Rebecca Lodge,
Canning, will conduct their service at the H.W. Lindsay Memorial Chapel at
Kentville tonight at 8 o'clock.
