The 1923 obituary for Roderick Simpson (below) lists a daughter, Mrs. Seldon Sutherland of Oxford.  That is probably Julia Edna Simpson (born 10-Nov-1897), but does anyone know who Seldon Sutherland is... or what happened to Seldon and Julia?

June 7, 1923 Oxford Journal:
The Journal last week stated in brief the passing away as the result of an accident of Mr. Roderick Simpson, a well-known resident of Mount Pleasant.  Dr. E. P. Atkinson the attending physician gives us further particulars of the sad occurrence.  On Wednesday, June 6th the deceased was ripping an ask plank on his twin circular saws run by gasoline engine, inn order to make a table for sawing laths.  The saws struck a knot in the plank, hurling the timber against Mr. Simpson’s abdomen, knocking him back to an adjoining wall.  The blow injured him seriously internally and he suffered much pain, notwithstanding skillful treatment and passed away in less than 24 hours after the accident.  The funeral was conducted by Rev. G.R. Kyle of Oxford on Saturday afternoon, a large number gathering for the occasion and thus showed their sympathy for the bereaved family.  The surviving relatives, his wife, who was a Miss Mattinson, five daughters, Mrs. Cameron of Tatamagouche, Mrs. Clarence Kennedy of Port Philip, ***Mrs. Seldon Sutherland*** and Viola of Oxford, Rossie at home and two sons, Ernest in British Columbia, by a former marriage; Renforth at home.

Thank you for your thoughts,
Gerry
