Genealogy isn't an exact science from the Google search below; just a good
genealogy lineage paper trail. DNA testing is the only way to be 100% sure
of one's bloodline. Websites are sometimes not exactly accurate due to
insufficient research by the family genealogist/webmaster. Genealogy
websites are therefore just tools to work from and one always has to verify
it's contained data further. A hole can sometimes be later punched in their
ancestry paper trail by another researcher, proving someone isn't who
someone else thinks they are.
I have seen a document that Flora June was born in or around the Joggins
area of Cumberland County 14 months before Lillian Myrtle m/1 widower, James
"Jamie" Macintosh Leck, 21 years her senior, on 25 Jul 1936 at Elderbank,
Halifax County. On this document, Howard Taggart, Miner, and Lillia[n]
McLelland, Maid, were named as her unmarried parents. I feel both Flora
June's are the same person. Looking at the website photo of June Leck and
her sister Mable Leck, the facial features are somewhat different to
possibly have the same birth father. Flora June's step-father may have later
adopted her, giving her his Leck surname.
There's a strong possibility Howard Talmage Taggart (about 1903 Parrsboro -
26 Aug 1973, Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax)(s/o Thornton C. Taggart and Clara
Smith) is Flora June's birth father.
As a Taggart researcher among other surnames, below are 4 more possible
"TAGGART" bloodline descendents via Flora June to check out. That's how I
now have Flora June in my file until further data surfaces to prove
otherwise.
If you're a "Cumberland County" McLellan researcher, all the children of
Norman McLellan and Olive Jane Coates from Minudie are also in the website
below.
