Alexander Elmer “Sandy” MacKay, 65 of Six Mile Brook, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at his home with his wife by his side.

Born in Brookland, he was as son of the late William “Bill” and Clara (Rae) MacKay.

Sandy worked at Michelin Tire Corp. for 30 years until his retirement. He was an avid hunter, liked to putter with his tractor and 4 wheeler and loved to tinker with things in his garage. An easy going guy, he enjoyed being with his family and friends, and especially loved being with his 2 grandchildren.


He is will be sadly missed by his wife Helen (Atkinson) ; son Troy (Janet) and 2 grandchildren, Hannah and Tyler, Sydney; sisters: Ann McNeily (David Thorton), Fredericton; Lee Sibille, (Eric), Salt Springs; Heather Ellis (Allison), Covehead, P.E.I.; Kelly Fraser (John) Coldbrook; brothers, Bill ( Linda ), Stellarton; Strachan (Karen); Everett ( Leah ); Sterling (Joan), all of Salt Springs.

Visitations will be held on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Monday from Eagles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Charles MacPherson officiating. Burial will be in Stillman Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Assoc., or the Nova Scotia Heart and Stoke Foundation. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
