OBITUARY: Hiram Edgar Canning
Hiram Edgar Canning, 86, of 2051 Creighton Street, died Friday in Camp Hill
Hospital, Halifax, N.S. Born in Shulie, Cumberland County, he was a son of
the late Leander and Annie (Mills) Canning. He was a corporal in the
Canadian Army during the Second World War. He was a retired carpenter. He is
survived by two daughters, Lillian (Mrs. William Bennett), Lower Sackville;
Venita (Mrs. James Raynor), Vancouver, B.C.; 13 grandchildren and 15 great
grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Margaret Harnish;
two daughters, Helen (Mrs. Henry Jack), and Dorothy; three sons, Robert,
Archie and Clayton; seven brothers and six sisters. The body is in Crowell's
Funeral Home, Sheet Harbor. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday
in St. David's Catholic Church, Sheet Harbor Passage. Burial will be in the
family lot in Sheet Harbor Passage.
