OBITUARY: Garfield S. Strong
Spencer's Island - Garfield S. Strong, 75, of Spencer's Island, died
Thursday ay Kamloops, B.C. Born at Spencer's Island, he was a son of the
late Oscar and Annie (Copp) Strong. He was a retired carpenter. Surviving
are three daughters, Blanche (Mrs. Allison McAloney), Mrs. Flora Lamb and
Ardis (Mrs. Hughie Bennett), all of 100 Mile House, B.C.; two sons, Henry,
CFB Borden; Morton, Trenton; one sister, Ella (Mrs. Borden[sic] Fletcher),
New Salem; one brother, Cecil, Advocate; and 26 grandchildren. He was
predeceased by his wife, the former Georgie Bradford; and two sons,
Frederick and Wesley. The body is at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro.
Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m., in the Advocate United
Church, Rev. John Kay officiating. Burial will be in the Advocate Cemetery.
