Bruce Burt Lea Spencer was born a Schofield on 12 May 1909 at Canning, s/o
John Ezekial Schofield and Annie Florence Spencer. When Bruce's mother,
Annie Florence (Spencer) Schofield died in 1912, the Children's Aid Society
placed Bruce with his maternal Uncle, Bruce James Spencer and his wife, Mary
Zwicker. Somewhere along the line, his surname changed from Schofield to
Spencer.
