Gail Beaton
1953-2013
Gail H. Beaton, 59, of Halifax, formerly of Oxford, passed away peacefully
at the home of her brother with family by her side on August 23rd, 2013
after losing a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Pugwash, NS, she was a daughter of the late Newton and Dorothy
(Fraser) Wood.
Gail operated her own rest home and later was employed with Shannex
Parkland. At the time of her illness she was employed with Eastlink.
She was a loving mother to Derrick (Julie), Waverley, NS, Cameron (Ashley),
Woodstock, NB and a dear Nan Nan to Brody, Abigail, Riley and Owen. Also
survived by her brother Fraser (Beth) Wood, Oxford and all her nieces and
nephews who were very dear to her heart.
She was predeceased by husband Gerard Beaton.
Visitation will be held at W. Allen Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, NS
(902-447-2167) on Monday from 7 to 9 pm. Her funeral service will be held
on Tuesday, August 27 at 2 pm at St. James Presbyterian Church, Main St.,
Oxford with Reverend John Tonks officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine
Grove Cemetery, Oxford.
Family flowers only. Those wishing to make a donation in Gail's memory may
do so to the V.O.N. Cumberland, or the charity of your choice.
A special thank you to the Palliative Care Nurse Cindy Oickle, also all the
VON nursing staff (Toni Read, Barb Greene, and Wanda Smith).
