DR. EDGAR M. CURTIS - St. Andrews United Church, Truro, was filled by
sorrowing relatives and friends on Saturday afternoon, February 10, to pay
their last respects at the funeral services held for Dr. Edgar M. CURTIS was
has passed away suddenly at his work at Colchester Hospital on the previous
Thursday afternoon. The service was conducted by Dr. T.E. McLENNAN and the
church choir with their organist Mrs. Helen EMBREE sang the hymns "Faith of
Our Fathers" and "Abide With Me". The front of the church was banked with a
wealth of beautiful floral tributes showing the esteem in which he was held.
The doctors, and nurses and members of the Masonic Order sat in a body. The
Honorary pallbearers were Arthur CREELMAN, Old Barns; Dr. Hugh. CORBETT,
Sydney; Dr. H.D. DANIEL, Dr. W.J. MacDONALD Sr., Walter MARTIN, Roy
VEA(...), Hugh BISHOP and Lorne McCurdy FAYDEN, Dr. K.B. SHEPHARD, Donald H.
MacDONALD, Trueman MacINTOSH and Dr. C.M. BELL, Upper Stewiacke. The
committal service was at Lewis Memorial Vault, Robie Street cemetery, with
interment to take place in the family plot in Clifton cemetery in the
spring. Dr. CURTIS is survived by his wife, the former Ella FERRAND, R.N.,
of Amherst; three sons, John, David and Gary, all of Dalhousie University;
his mother, Mrs. Scot CURTIS, Lower Truro; Hollis, Jamaica Plain, Mass.;
Douglas, Onslow; Dr. Stanley, Truro; Roger, Lower Truro; three sisters, Mrs.
Charles YUILL, Old Barns; Mrs. Gordon CREELMAN, Lower Truro; and Miss Evelyn
CURTIS, Truro
