OBITUARY:
McLaughlin, Donald William - 85, 12 Lorne Cres., Amherst, died 25 Oct 1996
in the home of his daughter, Ann, in Dartmouth. Born in Amherst, he was a
son of the late Morley and Agnes (Bishop) McLaughlin. He was an active
member of Trinity St. Stephen's United Church; Masonic Order, Acacia Lodge
8, where he received his 50 year jewel; past PGSW of the Grand Lodge of Nova
Scotia; former member of the Cumberland Chapter 13; Beausejour Preceptory
57; Philae Temple Shrine Club. He was an avid bridge player, enjoyed the
outdoors and spent many hours gardening. He was a former member of the
Amherst Curling Club. Surviving are daughters, Ann (Mrs. Gordon McEachern),
Dartmouth; Ruth Hayden, Nashua, N.H.; son, David, Dartmouth; sister, Jean
Milton, Amherst; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren. He was
predeceased by his wife, the former Jean Wilson; brother, Ivan. Funeral 2
p.m., today in Cumberland Memorial Chapel, Amherst, Rev. Allan Griffin
officiating. Burial in Amherst Cemetery. Donations to Highland View Regional
Hospital Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
