OBITUARY: Mrs. Morley McLaughlin
The death occurred Sunday afternoon of Mrs. Agnes May McLaughlin, widow of
the late Morley T. McLaughlin of Amherst. She had been ill only this past
three weeks and was a well known and highly respected resident and will be
missed by all who knew her. Mrs. McLaughlin was 80 years of age, daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. William Bishop of Amherst. Although born in Halifax,
she resided in Amherst all her life.She was a member of Trinity-St.
Stephen's United Church and took an active interest in church activities.
She was also a member of the Pythian Sisters. Her husband predeceased her in
1955 and one daughter, Evelyn, several years ago. Surviving are one
daughter, Jean (Mrs. Arnold Hanright) of Amherst; two sons, Donald of
Amherst and Ivan, Ottawa. Seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren
also survive. The late Mrs. McLaughlin is resting at Furlong's Funeral Home
from where the funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30
conducted by Rev. A.H. Moore. The Pythian Sisters will hold their service at
the funeral home Tuesday night at 8 p.m. Interment will take place in
Highland Cemetery.
