William Peter "Bill" Landry
William Peter "Bill" Landry - 64, of Avonport, Kings County, passed away
peacefully, Thursday, August 8, 2013 at home. Born in Amherst and raised in
Fenwick, Cumberland County, he was a son of Elizabeth Marjorie (Swettenham)
Landry, Amherst and the late Edgar Joseph Landry. He had been employed with
the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board as a supervisor of computer
technicians. Bill loved to sing and play his guitar and enjoyed carpentry
and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, the former Irene
"Ann" Porter; a daughter, Giselle (Kenneth) Kennedy, Nanaimo, British
Columbia; two sons, Peter (partner, Kathy Mabley), Alberta; Rene (Erin),
Sunken Lake; two brothers, John (Jeannie) and David (Dale), both of Fenwick;
a sister, Ruth (Kenneth Durling), Hantsport; three grandchildren, Spencer,
Wyatt and William. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from
6-8 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 in the White Family Funeral Home,
Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held
at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2013, Reverend Wayne Fevens and Reverend
David Ogilvie officiating. Burial will take place in the Lower Horton
Cemetery, Grand Pré. Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Hospice
Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society (Daffodil Campaign for the
expansion of The Lodge That Gives.) Funeral arrangements have been entrusted
to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
