Obituary:
Rector, Harold Stuart ³Papa² - 86, Great Village, Colchester Co., passed
away on September 1, 2008 at home, surrounded by his family and care givers.
Born in River Hebert, he was a son of the late Stuart and Hazel (Corbett)
Rector. He is survived by his doting wife, Dorothy (Pettigrew), fondly
called by ³Papa² as ³George²; daughter, Susan, Great Village; sons, Lauchie
(Joann), Doug (Laura); both of Great Village; brothers, Gordon (Ollie),
Dennis (Judy) Lamont; sisters, Laura (Charles) Fulton; Rena (Jim) Elaschuk,
all of St. Catherines, ON; Eva Rose (Jack) Giddens, Brule Point;
grandchildren, Kerri Rector, Tammi (Jim) Hepworth, Robert (Karen), David
(Melissa), Matthew (Ardis), William (Amanda), Sarah (Aaron);
great-grandchildren, Jimmie, Julian, Jessica and Ryan; many nieces, nephews
and cousins. He was predeceased by children, Robert Thomas, Carl Edward,
Ronald Gordon and Hazel Beatrice; brothers, Ronald and Earl; sisters, Davida
and Kate. There will be a visitation on Friday, September 5th from 10-11:00
am followed by a gathering of family and friends at 11:00 am in Colchester
Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Reception to follow.
Interment in Bass River Baptist Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be
made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Colchester Regional Hospital or
