OBITUARY:
Becker (Spencer), Laura, 79, daughter of the late Norman Morine and Freda
Walsh Crofy, died July 27, 2013. Surviving, husband, Mike; seven children;
six step-children; ten siblings; grandchildren. Predeceased by first
husband, Frank Spencer; three children; two siblings; one grandchild.
Graveside service, Gaspereau Cemetery, 11 a.m. August 8th.

Obituary for Freda Croft
CROFT, Freda Mae (Walsh) ­ 96, Wolfville passed away February 20, 2012 in
Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Gaspereau she was a daughter of
the late Ada Walsh. Freda was a house cleaner for many years right up until
the age of 73. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. She will
be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Freda is survived by her
husband Lawrence; sons Cecil Walsh, New Minas, Robert Walsh (Diane Baker),
Bridgewater, Larry Walsh (Nancy Piercey), Berwick, George Croft (Dorothy),
New Minas, Donald (Barb) Croft, New Minas; daughters ***Laura ³Hattie²
(Mike) Becker***, Bell Ewart, Ontario, Elizabeth (Robert) Laloned, Ontario,
Marjorie (Harry) Pinch, Greenfield, Margaret (Merton) Rafuse, South Alton,
Ann (Laurie) Brown, New Minas, Rose (John) Boylan, Gaspereau; several
grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides
her mother Freda was predeceased by a son Bedford; daughter Edith Croft;
brother James, sisters Josephine, Stella; grandchildren Wendy and Ann Levy,
Bonita Spencer; step granddaughter Linda Gauthier; step grandson Frederick
Spencer; great grandson Daniel Gallant. Cremation has taken place. A
memorial service was held Thursday, February 23 at 2:00 p.m. from the
Gaspereau Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Shaw and Rev. Gary Manthorne
officiating. Interment in the Gaspereau cemetery. Donations in memory of
Freda may be made to the Wolfville Animal Hospital or the Heart and Stroke
Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements are under the care and direction of

Obituary - MORINE, Norman Henry - 91, Evergreen Home for Special Care,
Kentville, Kings Co., died October 28, 2001, in the home. Born in Melanson,
Kings Co., he was a son of the late Rupert and Emily (McCully) Morine. He
was a labourer throughout the Valley area, employed with both the railway
and farming industries. He was an avid fisherman. He is survived by sons:
Cecil, New Minas; Robert, Yarmouth; daughters: ***Hattie (Mrs. Frank
Spencer)***, Greenwood; Elizabeth Moody, Ottawa, Ont.; Marjorie (Mrs. Harry
Pinch), Sunken Lake, Kings Co.; Edith (Mrs. Basil Croft), Gaspereau;
Margaret (Merton Rafuse) Levy, South Alton; several grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters: Hattie and Ethel;
brothers: Clifton and Harry. No visitation by family request. A graveside
service for family and close friends will be held in Gaspereau Cemetery,
Gaspereau at a later date, Rev. Robert Billings officiating. Donations in
memory may be made to the Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville or a
charity of choice. Arrangement are entrusted to W.C. Hiltz Funeral Parlour,
Kentville.

Father's name might have been Rueben, b. Gaspereauu Mt, a farmer, s/o Samuel
Morine & Ann age 23, single, when he married Emily McCullough, age 21,
single, b. Port Greville, d/o Robert McCullouch & Mary Ann Welch as listed
on Kings Co. Marriage index, page 71 #109.
