In case anyone wants to know. This is my aunt (dad's sister). There was a
misprint in the paper and her birth date was December 13th, not the 1st. They
missed the 3.

Kathryn Ruth Wry
December 1, 1930-July 29, 2013

It is with sadness, that the family of Kathryn (Pettis) Wry, announce her
passing on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Moncton Hospital, with her loving
family by her side. Kay was 82 years of age.

Born on December 1, 1930 in Amherst, N.S., Kay was the daughter of the late
Rexford and Evelyn (Hughes) Pettis.

Kaye enjoyed a very successful teaching career. She was on the first staff
of the Amherst Regional High School until she married Albert and began her
teaching career in Sackville. Kay had many interests she pursued after her
retirement. She was an amateur painter (watercolors) and her paintings hang
in private collections in Canada, Bermuda, USA, England and Japan. She was
an avid golfer and a former member of the Northumberland Links Golf Club in
Pugwash. She was a past president of the Ladies Division. Kay and Albert
spent many winters in Florida (Indian Rocks Beach) where they enjoyed
golfing with their many friends, going to the beach and her great love,
shopping. Their summers were spent at their lovely cottage at Cold Spring
Head (near Amherst Shore and Northport) where their flower beds and gardens
were the envy of many. Kay will always be remembered by her many friends
for her kind and caring ways.

Kay will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, Albert Wry of
Sackville; brother, Edward (Cathy) Pettis of Amherst, N.S.; sister, Ina
Bowser of Amherst, N.S.; a cousin, Jim Hughes of California; dear
cousin-in-law, Jean Reardon of Newburyport, Mass and many nieces and

Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her two cousins, Sidney Hughes
of Halifax, N.S. and Irene Hughes of Windsor, Ontario.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell¹s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge
Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Kay¹s wishes, cremation
has taken place and there will be no visiting hours. The funeral service
will be held a the funeral home on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev.
Lloyd Bruce officiating. Burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery.
Following the service, family and friends are invited to a reception at the
funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kay may be made to the Sackville
Memorial Hospital or to the charity of one¹s choice.
