Aubrey ROBINSON of Carrington lost his life in a tragic accident at the Salt Company marine
terminal at Pugwash on June 2 when he was buried under hundreds of tons of salt.
Mayor I.W. AKERLEY of Dartmouth, a native of Pugwash, has been elected president of the Canadian
Federation of Mayors.

A fine program of instrumental and vocal selections took place at the Oxford Baptist Church on
June 1. Mrs. M.S. MACPHAIL, Wolfville, gave a recital of seven numbers on the minshall organ,
and Mrs. Norman LUND, Amherst, sang three selections. The late Deacon T.M. JOHNSON was the
grandfather of Mrs. MacPhail and the father of the church's present organist, Mrs. M.E. MCCAUSLAND.
Died - Mrs. Richard LETCHER, 73, Springhill, at Wentworth.
