Eric Simpson "Nobby" Rushton Sr.

1935-2013

Eric Simpson "Nobby" Rushton Sr.,   78, of Springhill, passed away on
Monday, July 29, 2013 at All Saints Hospital. Born in Springhill, he was a
son of the late John Everett and Alice Regina (Simmons) Rushton.

Most of Eric's working years were spent with the railroad, working 25 years
with the CNR and another 6 years with VIA Rail. He was a member of the Royal
Canadian Legion Branch # 17, Springhill; was an avid bingo player and
enjoyed playing darts and cards, hunting, and spending time with his family.

Eric will be sadly missed by sons, John of River Ryan, Cape Breton and Eric
(Lillian) of Springhill; two grandchildren and awaiting the arrival of two
great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of thirty-six years, the
former Dorothy U. Goldrich; a son, Jamie and a brother, J Douglas.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of A H Brown Funeral
Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902-597-2361), where visitation will
be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. A funeral service
will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, August 1, 2013 from the funeral home with
Major Max Snow officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery,
Springhill. The funeral service can be viewed by visiting Eric's obituary on

The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the
nursing staff on the 2nd floor of All Saint's Hospital, Springhill, for
their care and compassion.
