OBITUARY: Mrs. Alice Comeau
The death of Mrs. Alice Margaret Comeau occurred at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Margaret Welsh. Mrs. Comeau was en route to church and had
stopped at her daughter's on 78 Church Street, when her passing came
suddenly. She was 82 years old and the last surviving member of her family
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dan McCarthy of Sackville. She has resided at the
home of her niece, Mrs. Mac Fagan, 7 Fullerton Street for the past year and
has been a resident of Amherst for the past 39 years, coming here from
Nappan. Her husband, the late David Comeau, predeceased her in 1950. She is
survived by three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Welsh, Sylvia (Mrs. Arthur
Arseneau), both of Amherst; Clara (Mrs. Ralph Murray? [blurred print]), of
Toronto; also two sons, Clarence, Toronto, and Fred, of Amherst. The remains
are resting at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Welsh, 78 Church Street. The
funeral service will be held from St. Charles Roman Catholic Church on
Tuesday morning at nine o'clock.
