Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of David Laurie Bacon age 75 of Amherst announce his passing on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS. Born in Nappan, he was a son of the late Harry and Alieta (Reid) Bacon. In his early years David worked on the family farm in Upper Nappan. He later moved to Toronto where he was employed with CP Railway for 34 years. He retired and moved back to Amherst in 2002. David enjoyed making bird houses and had a passion for hockey especially the Toronto Maple Leafs. He loved gardening and was always willing to help his neighbours at any time day or night. David will be sadly missed by his wife Louise (Gaudet) Bacon, one daughter Darlene (Franklyn) Manning of Scarborough, ON and one son Peter of Amherst, three grandchildren Shauna (Chris) Losenno, Cindy and Mindy, two great grandchildren Austin and Hailey May. David was happy to hear the news that a third great grandchild was
on the way. He is also survived by two nephews Roger Turner and Jeffrey Boucher.
Besides his parents, David was predeceased by a daughter Susan in infancy and sister Minnie Turner. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst, NS (902-667-9906) Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst, NS with Father Phil Thibodeau officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery, Amherst. Memorial donations in David’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetic Association.
