Adding to the Gamble obituaries that Dave posted yesterday (copies below), here is the obituary for a son of Bernard Alvin Gamble & Clara Pauline Knight:

TRURO - Funeral service for Ralph Blake Gamble, 20, of Bass River, who was killed when the car in which he was travelling left the highway near here early Friday morning, will be held Sunday, 4:15 p.m., at the Bass River Baptist Church, Lic. Douglas Crouse officiating. Truro RCMP reported the man died instantly when the car left Highway 2-A at Portaupique, about 25 miles west of Truro, about 2:30 a.m. yesterday. Passengers in the vehicle, Melvin Charles MacLellan, 23, and Donald William Faulkner, 21, both of Bass River, are in the Colchester Hospital here. MacLellan is reported to be in serious condition, while Faulkner has a fractured leg. No decision had been made n a magisterial inquiry. The accident was the second fatality in the area in eight days, Mrs. Clarence Newton, Bass River, was killed in an accident March 13. Gamble was born in Truro, but lived most of his life in Bass River. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Gamble, Bass
River. Besides his parents, he is survived by four sisters, Linda, who attends school; Helen, Upper Economy; Yvonne (Mrs. Ernest Rushton), Toronto; Dianne (Mrs. David Ryan), Bass River; one brother, Dennis, at home, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Gamble, Ontario. The body is at the McCulloch and Patriquin Funeral Home, Great Village. Interment will be in the Bass River Baptist Church cemetery.

Gamble, Clara Pauline - 78, Bass River, Colchester County, died Sunday in
Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Pleasant Hills, Colchester
County, she was a daughter of the late Byers and Annie Murphy) Knight. She
was a longtime resident of Bass River and a member of Bass River United
Church. She is survived by her husband, Bernard; four daughters, Yvonne
(Mrs. Glen Hazel), Helen (Peggy) Fraser, Dianne Ryan, all of Bass River;
Linda (Mrs. Logan Elliott), Economy; a son, Dennis, Bass River; a brother,
Raymond, Portapique Mountain; 15 grandchildren; six great grandchildren. She
was predeceased by a son, Ralph; two sisters, Alma, Myrtle; a brother,
Harold. The body is in Bass River Baptist Church, visiting 7-9 p.m., today,
where funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Harry Ward officiating. Burial
will be at a later date in Bass River Baptist Cemetery. Donations may be
made to Bass River Baptist Church, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or any
charity.

Obituary - HAZEL, Glenn Melbourne - 51, Bass River, Colchester County, died
April 16, 1994, at home. Born in Advocate, he was a son of Spicer Hazel,
Parrsboro and Mae (Strong) Hazel, Advocate. He had been a resident of Bass
River for the past four years and was a former truck operator. He is
survived by his wife, the former Yvonne Gamble; son, Glenn, Parrsboro; three
stepdaughters, Beverly (Mrs. Gary Jordan), Rosemary Canning, both of Bass
River; Annette McLellan, Dartmouth; two brothers, Clifford, Montreal;
Robert, New Brunswick; half-brother, Rupert Strong, Joggins; five sisters,
Diane Jackson, Amherst; Lois Allen, Cheryl Stewart, both of Parrsboro; Joyce
Snow, New Brunswick; Eugena, the United States; three grandchildren. Funeral
will be 2 p.m. today in Riverside United Church, Bass River, Rev. Robert
Mack officiating. Burial will be in the Baptist cemetery, Bass River.

1998, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Castlereigh,
Colchester Co., he was a son of the late Cameron and Mary (Newton) Gamble.
He had been a life resident of Bass River, where he was a well known
carpenter and former employee of the Dominion Chair Company, Bass River.
Surviving are daughters, Linda (Mrs. Logan Elliott), Economy; Dianne Ryan,
Yvonne Hazel, Peggy Gamble, all of Bass River; son, Dennis, Bass River;
brother, Herman, Little Bass River; sisters, Madeline Gamble, Charlotte
MacFarlane, both of Truro; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a
great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Clara
Pauline Knight; son, Ralph; brothers, Norman, Lawson; grandson, Keith
Gamble. Funeral 2 p.m. today in Bass River Baptist Church, Rev. Roger Moore
