Davis - McWhirter marriage

A very pretty wedding and one of great interest to a wide circle of friends was solemnized Wednesday evening, Sept. 17, at 9:00 o'clock at the First Baptist parsonage, 5 Faulkner St., where Miss Arnelia Belle McWhirter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur McWhirter, became the bride of Ivan Millard Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Davis. The contracting parties reside in Apple River, N. S.
The bride was becomingly dressed in a Romance Blue street-length dress with accessories to match. The matron of honor was Mrs. Darrelll McWhirter and the best man was Pte. Darrell McWhirter, R. C. A. The double ring ceremony was performed in the presence of a large gathering of immediate relative and close friends of the bride and groom by Rev. Ernest J. Barrass, Minister of the First Baptist Church, of which church the bride is a valued member.
The bride is a graduate of the Provincial Normal College, and a successful teacher. The bridegroom is a popular surveyor. Following the wedding ceremony the young couple left for a brief honeymoon trip through Nova Scotia.
