It is with great sadness that the family of Neil Reid announces his passing on April 28, 2012 at his home on the farm after a brief battle with cancer. Neil was born October 20, 1943 in Springhill, Nova Scotia. He then moved west with his parents in 1946. Neil is survived by the love of his life Beryl of 49 years; their children, Darren (Karla), Dawn (Gary Gerski) and Derrick (Bev); eight grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, Shawn, Shane Shelby, Cole, Hunter and Taylor; two great grandchildren, Ty and Kane; mother, Maebelle Nelson; siblings, Jack (Villy), Daryle (Diana), Debbie (Dave Way), Melody (Bruce Langille), Melena (Scott Fennel); and many nieces and nephews. Neil was predeceased by his father, Jack; step-mother, Eva; brother, Wayne; father-in-law, Edwin Altman; and mother-in- law, Edna Yeske. Family was always important to Neil. Neil was his own person and a very hard worker. He liked a challenge, spoke his mind but most of all he was very soft hearted. Neil did many things in his life time including construction, cooking, mechanic, butcher and farmhand. After Neil and Beryl were married, they owned and operated several grocery stores in Saskatoon , Nipawin and Blaine Lake. In 1980 Neil made his dream come true as he purchased the family farm in Hafford. Neil always said the country and the farm was the place to be. Neil, in his own way always believed in the Lord. Out on the tractor, the Man upstairs and Neil would have many conversations. On the morning of his passing Neil asked Dawn "Where am I going today?" "Heaven" she replied. Then he said "I should get going". Within afew hours Neil passed away peacefully. The family would like to thank the Home Care staff, doctors at RUH and Shellbrook staff for their care and compassion through this time. Wayne Hector Reid June 12th, 1959 July 18th, 2005 Our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully at Royal University Hospital at the age of 46. He is survived by his wife, of 23 years, Roberta and his two daughters, Jenna (Kevin Charlton) and Ashley (fiance Ashley Bull). His mother, Belle Nelson, Springhill, NS; his brothers, Neil (Beryl), Blaine Lake, Jack (Villy), Saskatoon and Daryle (Diana), Saskatoon; his sisters, Debby (Dave) Way, Moncton, NB, Melody (Bruce) Langille, Springhill, NS, Malena (Scott) Fennel Tyler, TX. Also numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews: and all other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his paternal father, Jack Reid Sr., his step mom, Eva Reid and his dad, Willis Henwood. Wayne was born in Saskatoon at the Royal University Hospital on June 12th, 1959 at the age of 4 he moved to Springhill, NS with his mother, where he was raised by her and Willis. He returned to Saskatoon in 1976. He worked for Decor Enterprises from '77 to '89. In 1989 he purchased the business changing the name to DaCor Doors Ltd. Thanks to the dedication of his long time staff members and friends DaCor became a very successful business. Special thanks to the staff at Royal University Hospital for caring for Wayne with such compassion during his time with them. Public Visitation will be held Thursday, July 21st from 8:00 9:00 p.m. from Mourning Glory Funeral Services (1201 8th Street East). The Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22nd from Faith Alive Family Church (637 University Drive). In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation (2320 15th. Ave. Regina, SK. S4P 1A2) or the Kidney Foundation of Canada (1 2217 Hanselman Crt. Saskatoon, SK S7L 9Z9)..
