Re: Rachel (Kirkpatrick) Yorke of Kirk's Hill and Wharton

Dave,

Regarding the child who died in infancy, the headstone for Albert H. Yorke & Rachel Kirkpatrick simply says
Infant, 1905-1905

Halifax, N.S.
OBITUARY: Mrs. Rachel Yorke
Mrs. Rachel Yorke, widow of the late Albert H. Yorke, passed away at her
home in Wharton on Saturday, January 13th, after some week's illness. She
had been suffering from a heart ailment for some time. Seventy-five years of
age, Mrs. Yorke was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alex Kirkpatrick,
Kirk's Hill, Parrsboro, and was the last surviving member of her family.
During her married life she has resided in Wharton, a short distance from
from the place of her birth. A woman of high Christian ideals she was
beloved by all who knew her and her passing will leave a void in her home
and community. Left to mourn her loss are four sons, Charlie of the Canadian
Bank of Commerce staff in Amherst; Layton at home; Donald in Halifax; and
Howard with the Canadian Bank of Commerce at St. John's, Nfld. Her husband
predeceased her fifteen years ago; an only daughter, Alice, passed away four
years ago, and another child died in infancy. The funeral service was held
from her late home in Wharton yesterday afternoon and was conducted by Rev.
W.R. Rackham of Trinity United Church, Parrsboro. Interment was in the
family lot in the former Presbyterian Cemetery here.
