74, Bass River, and formerly of Windsor, Ontario, passed away Saturday September 1, 2012 in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Bass River, he was a son of the late Winfred and Villa (Bird) Lewis. Leon worked as a Grocery Manager for Dominion Stores. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by daughter, Patsy Ryan (Todd) of Bass River, NS; son Elliott Arquette (Pat) of Windsor, ON; grandchildren, Emma Ryan of Truro, NS, Adriana and Adam Arquette of Windsor Ontario; special nephew Lewis Frost of Little River, Digby Co., NS and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife the former Norma Ida Marie (Hebert) Lewis; son John Lewis; brothers, Bernard Lewis, Aubrey Bird; sisters, Winnifred Theriault, Dorothy Frost, Marie MacLellan. Private family interment will be held at a later date in Greenlawn Cemetery, Windsor Ontario. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall - Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. LEWIS, Norma 72, The Mira Long Term Care Centre, formerly of Bass River, Nova Scotia, and Windsor, Ontario, passed away peacefully Monday morning, October 10, 2011, at The Mira. Born August 9, 1939, in Windsor, Ontario, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Germaine (Normand) Hebert. Norma is survived by her husband of 46 years, Leon H. Lewis; daughter, Patsy (Todd) Ryan, Bass River; son, Elliott (Pat) Arquette, Windsor, Ontario; grandchildren, Adam and Adrianna Arquette, Windsor, Ontario; Emma Ryan, Truro; niece, Michelle Hebert; nephews, Darren (Jeanne) Hebert, Rob Hebert; great nephew, Jesse Hebert. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her son, John Lewis; sister, Val Hebert; brother, Cisco Normand. Special thanks are extended to the wonderful staff at The Mira, especially Tena Mosher, for the wonderful care given to Norma, over the past couple of years.
