Obit: VIGNEAULT, Mary Theresa

VIGNEAULT, Mary Theresa – 88 of MacCarthy Place, Pictou passed away Friday September 21 2012, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born on January 2 1924 in Amherst, Iles de le Madeline, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Sophie (Boudreau) Vigneault. At an early age, Theresa moved with her family to Pictou. She worked for many years with Maritime Tel & Tel in Pictou and New Glasgow. Theresa owned and operated The Mayflower Restaurant in Lyons Brook where people got to enjoy her cooking, baking and feisty spirit. She also worked at Victoria Hall in Halifax before her retirement. Theresa had a keen interest in family history and current events and was never afraid to voice her opinion. She loved to relate stories of years gone by. Theresa will be sadly missed by her sister, Rose Chennell, Westville and many nieces and nephews. Theresa was predeceased by her sisters Albertina Poirier, Oxille Marsolais, Mary Jomphe, Louise Cyr and Emma Bourque, brothers Thomas and Alphonse, foster brother Leonard Gaudet and nephew Joseph Poirier. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 1-2 PM Wednesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, from where funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. A reception will follow in the Stella Maris Church Hall, Pictou. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice. Source: - The Herald, Sept 24, 2012
