COATES, Donald Arthur It is with great sadness that the family of Don Coates announces his passing on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at the age of 73. Don passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a brief struggle with illness at the University of Alberta Hospital. Survived by his loving wife, Pat; daughter, Laurie (Matt); son Grant (Yvonne); his brother Robert (Mary) and sister Dorothy; eight grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia and moved to Edmonton in 1972. In respect of Don's wishes, no service will be held. Cremation has taken place. If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, #1010, 10117 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5J 1W8.
