OBITUARY: Edwin O. Carter
The death of Edwin O. Carter took place at his home at Southampton on
Tuesday, Sept. 19 at eleven o'clock. He had been ill for some time. He
leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, the former Martha Holmes of Parrsboro,
who is seriously ill in Highland View Hospital, Amherst; three sons, William
in the R.C.A.F., stationed at Halifax; Leyland of Springhill and Clayton of
Southampton; also four sisters[sic, daughters], Estella, Mrs. Angus Holden
of Maccan; Elsie, Mrs. Ross Canning, of Springhill; Edna, Mrs. Kenneth
Chapman, of Bayfield, New Brunswick; and Mildred, Mrs. Raymond Harrison of
Southampton; and one sister Clara, Mrs. Edgar Bigelow, of Parrsboro. One
daughter, Helen, Mrs. George Keefe, of Cambridge, Mass. Predeceased him six
years ago. The funeral was held at two o'clock from his home on Friday
afternoon with interment in the Church of England Cemetery, Amherst.
