Obit (1977) - Gerald Alan MAYNE

March 12, 1977 Halifax Chronicle Herald:
NIPAWIN, Sask. - Gerald Alan Mayne, 66, of Nipawin, formerly of Oxford, died Tuesday in the Nipawin Hospital.  Born in East Hansford, Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Abner and Georgina (Thompson) Mayne.  He was a barber in Nipawin, and had practiced his trade in Oxford, Charlottetown and Stephenville, prior to moving to Nipawin.  While in Oxford, he was a member of Trinity United Church, the Knights of Pythias Lodge, and active member of the local curling team.  He is survived by his wife, the former Agnes Penney; two daughters, Joan (Mrs. Patrick LaHart), Adrian, Mich.; Joyce (Mrs. Finten Penney), Mississauga.  Two stepdaughters, Ann (Mrs. Jerome Hoskins), Port Lampton, Ont.; Barbara (Mrs. Melvin Gray), Nipawin; a sister, Esther (Mrs. Elbert Black), East Amherst; three brothers, Hilbert, Port Philip; Frank L., West Chester; Edgar, of Ontario; and eight grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Janie Tuplin in
1949, four sisters and six brothers.  The body is at the Allen Funeral Home, Oxford where funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Maynard Rector officiating.  Committal service will take place in the Oxford Pine Grove cemetery receiving vault with burial in the Oxford Pine Grove cemetery in the spring.
