Obit (1942) - Laurence SIMPSON

I don't think the following obituary has been posted before:

May 14, 1942 Oxford Journal:
Following an illness of four months the passing of Mr. Laurence Simpson, Kolbec, occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Floyd Fraser, on May 9th, at the age of 57 years.  Mr. Simpson was born in Mount Pleasant, the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Simpson.  He spent several years in the United States and later moved back to Nova Scotia and settled in Kolbec.  He was married to Leona Mattinson of Mount Pleasant, who predeceased him two years ago.  He leaves to mourn the loss of a loving father, three sons, Stanley of Piqua, Ohio, U.S.A., Lewis of Canadian Army Overseas, Laurence at home, also two daughters, Della (Mrs. Eugene Marshall), Oxford, Cora (Mrs. Floyd Fraser), River View, and one brother, William Simpson of Salt Springs, N.S.  The funeral was held at his daughter's, Mrs. Eugene Marshall, Oxford on Monday afternoon.  Rev. Dr. L.L. Young, Oxford, conducted the service, speaking words of comfort to those who mourned, taking for
his text, Romans 8 and John 14.  The hymns sung were "23rd Psalm" and "Abide with Me".  The pall bearers were Seldon Sullivan, Richard Simpson, Roy King and Renforth Simpson.  The floral tributes were ... B.R. Gillis was funeral director.
