Obit (1995) - Creta Maureen MATTINSON (nee WINTER)

Nov. 3, 1995 Halifax Chronicle Herald (also published in the Nov 8, 1995 Oxford Journal and the Nov 3, 1995 Truro Daily News):
MATTINSON, Creta Maureen - 73, Oxford Junction, Cumberland Co., died November 1, 1995, in All Saints Hospital, Springhill.  Born in Fox River, Cumberland Co., she was a daughter of the late Frank M. and Lorenda P. (Leary) (Winter) Fulton.  She taught school in Nova Scotia for over 30 years having taught at McPhees Corner, Hants Co., Mount Pleasant, Cumberland Co., Oxford Junction, Cumberland Co., Oxford Elementary School and Oxford Regional High School at the time of her retirement.  She was a member of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union and St. James Presbyterian Church, Oxford.  She was a former member of St. Andrew's United Church UCW, Oxford Junction and a former member of the Mount Pleasant Women's Institute.  Surviving are her husband, Lawrence Ross; son, Robert, Elmsdale, Hants Co.; sisters, Mrs. Thelma Margeson, Bridgewater; Mrs. Ronia Belcher, Truro; Mildred (Mrs. Arthur Vance), Springhill; brothers, Curtis Winter, Hughie Winter, Kentville;
Ralph Winter, Springhill; a granddaughter; a grandson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her stepfather, Joseph B. Fulton; sisters, Ena Winter in infancy; Alma Reynolds, Dora Burton; brother, Lorne Winter in infancy.  Visitation today and tonight in Allen's Funeral Home, Oxford.  Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday in St. James Presbyterian Church, Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating, assisted by Rev. Charles E. Taylor.  Burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.  Donations to any charity.
