MATTINSON, Lawrence Ross - 77, Oxford Junction, Cumberland Co., died September 9, 1996, at home. Born in Mount Pleasant, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late Ross W. and Hilda J. (McDonald) Mattinson. He was an adherent of St. Andrew's United Church, Oxford Junction. In the early 1950s he moved to Dawson Creek, B.C., where he worked for two years in the lumbering industry. He spent most of his life employed in the Cumberland County area in the lumbering industry as a lumberman and sawyer. At the time of his retirement, he was a sawyer with Payson Dobson Lumber Ltd., Westchester, Cumberland Co. Surviving are son, Robert C., at home; sister, Mildred E. (Mrs. Lorne C. Priest), Mount Pleasant; brothers, Norman R., Springhill; Miner A., Oxford; two grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Creta Maureen Winter. Visitation today and tonight, funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday, both in Allen's
Funeral Home, Oxford, Rev. Lorraine Lambert officiating. Burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or any charity.
