MACDONALD*, Eugene P.A. "Gene" - 84, Amherst, formerly of Oxford, Cumberland Co., died September 22, 1999, in Gables Lodge, Amherst. Born in Mount Pleasant, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late John and Kezia (Mattinson) MacDonald. He was an adherent of the United Baptist Church, Oxford, and a former member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge 26, Oxford, with Grand Lodge Honors. He worked for the Oxford Creamery and Brookfield Foods for over 40 years. Surviving are wife, Jennie Crossman (Chesnutt); stepsons; Charles Chesnutt, Brunswick, Maine; Curtis Chesnutt, Truro; sister, Eva Wood, Colburg, Ont.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Freda, Shirley; brothers, Jeremiah, Joseph. There will be no visitation. Graveside service 2 p.m. Saturday Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Rev. Edgar Patriquin officiating. Funeral arrangements entrusted to MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, 5075 Main Street, Oxford. Donations to
Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Oxford United Baptist Church or any charity.
* The obituary published in the Oxford Journal spelled his surname as McDonald.
