Obit (1968) - Kenneth Charles MATTINSON

I don't think the following obituary has been posted before:

Aug. 8, 1968 Oxford Journal:
The community of Little River and surrounding districts were deeply shocked to learn of the tragic death of Kenneth Charles Mattinson, who died of injuries received in a tractor accident on Saturday afternoon, July 27th.
He leaves to mourn his father, Clinton, and mother, Bonnie, four sisters, Audrey and Brenda, at home, Inez (Mrs. George Matthews) of Springhill, and Marg (Mrs. Russell Doncaster) Oxford; two brothers, Carman, Oxford, and Douglas, at home.  Also left to mourn are two grandmothers and many relatives.
Kenneth Mattinson spent all his life in Oxford and Little River.  He attended O.R.H.S. this year.  He was born on May 9, 1952, at the All Saints Hospital in Springhill.  He was loved and respected by all who knew him.  He will be sadly missed by all.
The largely attended funeral service was held at Black's Funeral Home on July 29, with Rev. A.S. Adams conducting the service.
Hymns sung by the choir were "Beyond the Sunset" and "Walk in the Garden Alone", both favorites of the deceased.
Pallbearers were Wayne Casey, Peter Miller, Tommy Kalavak, Lloyd Leadbetter, Eddie Mattinson and Roger Reid, all friends of the deceased.
Interment was in the Birch Grove Cemetery with F. Black & Son as funeral directors.
The flowers were beautiful and were as follows...

Hope this helps someone,
Gerry
