Agnes L. Spicer 1923-2012
The death of Agnes L. Spicer, age 89, of Amherst occurred at the Wolfville Elms, Wolfville on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012. Born in Reserve Mines, CB,. NS, she was a daughter of the late Wilson and Margaret (Rennie) Macintyre. Agnes will be sadly missed by her daughter, Gwendolyn (George) Pope, Chase, BC; a son, David (Janet), Port Mouton, NS; sisters Isabel McPherson, Sarah MacIntyre and Helen Rooney, all of Kentville, NS; 6 grandchildren, Melanie, Angie, Rosemary, Michael, Elizabeth and George and 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Irvine, a son, Gary, grandson, Gregory and  brothers Archie, Norman and Bobby. Agnes's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, Amherst (667-8777).   At the request of the family, there will be no visitation or memorial service.  A private graveside service will be held in the Amherst Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of the donor's choice

SPICER, Irvine Vaughn - 79, Amherst, died February 19, 2004, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Apple River, he was a son of the late Medley and Jessie (McWhirter) Spicer. He is survived by his wife, Agnes (MacIntyre); daughter, Gwendolyn Pope, Chase, B.C.; sons, David, Gagetown, N.B.; Gary, Amherst; seven grandchildren; five great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by sister, Hilda Elderkin; brothers, Chester, Delbert. Cremation has taken place. No visitation. Private family service at a later date. Burial in Amherst Cemetery. Born in North Bay, Ont., he was a son of Agnes (MacIntyre) Spicer, Amherst, and the late Irvine Spicer. Gary worked as a cook in Banff, Alberta. Besides his mother, Gary is survived by daughter, Rose Mary Harrison (Michael); son, Michael Spicer; sister, Gwen Pope (George), British Columbia; brother, David (Janet), Oromocto, N.B.
