Kenneth Drury (April 25, 1929 - September 13, 2012
Kenneth David Drury, age 83, of Amherst passed away in the early hours of Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Gables Lodge in Amherst. Born in Maccan NS, he was a son of the late Dr. David and Evelyn (Bishop) Drury. He worked for Enheat/IMP in Amherst for many years. Ken was a kind and gentle person. Music was a source of great enjoyment and interest throughout his life. A talented piano player, Ken played for many social functions in Amherst. He also played Clarinet and was a member of the Mount Allison Symphonic Band as well as the Sackville Citizen Band/ Royal Hussars for many years. Other interests included gardening, bird watching, stamp collecting, and reading. He enjoyed spending time with his extended family; especially family gatherings at the cottage. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and was predeceased by his sister, (Evelyn) Ruth Naylor; as well as his brother, Stewart. Ken is survived by sister-in-law Mary (Stewart) Drury
of Dartmouth, his nephews, Robert (Nancy) Naylor of Halifax, Ian (Kathy) Naylor, of Amherst; Stewart (Sherry MacFarlane), Naylor of Dartmouth; nieces, Carol (Mark Dunphy) Naylor of Vancouver; Janet Drury of Quebec City, and Cathy (Roger) McKelvey of Dartmouth; seven great nieces and great nephews. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst and there will be no visitation by request.
