COCHRANE, Dorothy Jean - 78, Meadowland Villa, Bible Hill, formerly of Amherst,
died Saturday, April 5, 2003, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in
Sackville, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Ira and Jean (Allen) Kent. She
worked for Dr. Brown in Amherst for a number of years and later designed and
opened a family medical centre with Dr. Brown at Dalhousie University, Halifax.
Dorothy Jean also worked in public health for the Simcoe County District Health
Unit, Barrie, Ont. She worked for The Grace Hospital, Ottawa and the L.A. Animal
Shelter, Springhill. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Dorothy Jean was predeceased by
her children, Byron and Gerald and David in infancy; sister, Dorlo; brothers,
David, Carl, Neil, Ronald, Eric, Paul, Gerry and a brother in infancy. Her
remains are resting in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst with
visiting 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday from 1-2 p.m., where funeral service
will be held 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, Mr. Leland MacLean L.P.M.
officiating. Interment will take place in Sackville Cemetery, Sackville, N.B. at
a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to L.A. Animal Shelter.
