OBITUARY
HOWARD JAMES REID
Passed away peacefully with his family at his side, on September 14th 2012 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Howard James Reid (Jim) was born in Corner Brook Newfoundland on April 22, 1939 as a fourth generation Salvationist to Sophie and Jacob Reid. Jim was a dedicated life-long member of the Salvation Army, 16 years as YPSM and 30 years as CSM. Jim loved his band music and influenced and taught many young people to play. Jim was a dedicated employee of DuPont Canada for 44 years where he worked as a Certified Industrial Mechanic (Millwright). Jim will be remembered by his loving wife Dianna, his children Jim Jr. (Judi), Rodney (Karen) Melanie (Shawn) Grandchildren Amy, Paul (Emily), Jenna, Alisha, Ashlynn, Taylor, Morgan and Lucas Great-Grandchildren Jordyn & Landon. Jim will be missed by his siblings Gordon (Barb) Reid, June (Clare) Mutton, Ernie deceased (Barb) Reid, Shirley (George) Reid, Bram (Jan) Reid, Jake Reid, David (Sandra) Reid & Margaret (John) Tillsley, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Those who knew Jim will remember him for his caring and nurturing nature, the love he had for his family, gardening and Tokata Farm. Visitation will be held at W. C. Town Funeral Chapel, 110 Dundas St.E. Whitby on Tuesday September 18th 2:00pm 4:00pm and 7:00pm 9:00pm. Funeral Service will be held at Whitby Salvation Army Community Church 710 McQuay Blvd. Whitby on Wednesday September 19th 2012 at 1:00pm. Donations to the Whitby Salvation Army Community Church or SickKids Foundation Cancer Unit would be appreciated.
