Obit (1958) - Mrs. George CHAPPELL (nee Flora Augusta MATT_ INSON)

Amherst - The death occurred of Mrs. George CHAPPELL of Tidnish Bridge, at her home Sunday.  She was 72.  Formerly Flora Augusta Mattinson, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Mattinson, she was born in Beckwith.  Before her marriage she taught school in Lake Killarney, Tidnish Crossroads, and Tidnish Bridge.  She resided in Tidnish Bridge since her marriage 50 years ago.  She was a member of the United Church at Tidnish Bridge and was formerly an active member of the Ladies Aid and was president of that organization for a number of years.  Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Etta (Mrs. Sherman MacKay), Amherst, Marie (Mrs. David Wood) Port Elgin, N.B.; one son, John Burton, at home; three sisters, Hattie (Mrs. Fred Hollis), Springhill, Etta (Mrs. David Lockhart) Amherst, Bessie (Mrs. Clayton Knight) Oxford, two brothers, Arthur, of Beckwith; Harley, Leicester.  Nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. was unreadable.) Funeral service will be held from her late residence Tuesday afternoon at 2:30.  Interment in the family lot in Riverside Cemetery, Tidnish Bridge.

The death occurred of Mrs. George Chappell at her home in Tidnish Bridge Sunday morning.  Although she has been in poor health for the past few years she has been seriously ill since last August.  She was 71 years of age, formerly Flora Augusta Mattinson, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Mattinson of Beckwith, N.S., where she was born.  Before her marriage she taught school in Lake Kilarney, Tidnish Cross Roads and Tidnish Bridge.  She has resided at Tidnish Bridge since her marriage 50 years ago.  She was a member of the United Church in Tidnish Bridge; a former active member of the Ladies Aid and was president of this organization for a number of years.  Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Etta (Mrs. Sherman MacKay), Amherst, Marie (Mrs. David Wood) Port Elgin, N.B.;  three sisters, Hattie (Mrs. Fred Hollis), Springhill, Etta (Mrs. David Lockhart) Amherst, and Bessie (Mrs. Clayton Knight) Oxford, two brothers, Arthur
