Ivy Jenny "Jane" Fisher 1913-2012
Ivy 'Jane' Fisher, 99, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sept. 10, 2012 at High-Crest Place in Springhill. Born in England June 27, 1913, Jane was a talented seamstress and later served her country in the 2nd World War by leading convoys across England. After the war in Nov. 1946 Jane departed for Canada where she was introduced to the Baha'i Faith and she remained active and served faithfully in Ontario, Quebec and P.E.I. before settling in Truro NS, until failing health took her finally to Spinghill where she was cared for with love and kindness until her passing. Jane was artistic and very adventurous visiting South Africa, Curacao, Iceland, Palerno, Sicily, and travelling many times in her van at the drop of a hat across Canada and down to Florida with her family and friends. Jane is survived by her sister Marjorie French and nephew Ian, and many other nieces and nephews in England. Jane was predeceased by brothers Charles (Ontario) and Jim
(England) and sisters Mary Knight and Janet Milnes(England). Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home in Springhill where a memorial service will be held Friday, September 14 at 2:30pm. Donations in Jane's memory can be made to a charity of your choice. www.brownsfuneralhome.com
