Oxford, April 1 - Eaton Wellington Mattinson, son of the late John William and Celia Hollis Mattinson, Beckwith, passed away Wednesday evening, March 29th, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Clayton C. Knight, Smith St., Oxford, after a short illness at the age of 59 years. He is survived by three brothers and four sisters, Frank E., Oxford; Arthur C., Beckwith; Harley R., Leicester; (Flora) Mrs. George Chappell, Tidnish; (Bessie) Mrs. Clayton Knight, Oxford; (Etta) Mrs. David Lockhart, Leicester; (Hattie) Mrs. Fred Hollis, Port Howe. The funeral service was held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Knight on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m., with Rev. A.S. Rogers, D.D. officiating. The hymns sung were "Unto the Hills", "The Sands of Time are Sinking" and "Abide with Me". A large number of relatives and friends present took their last look at the remains of a life-long friend and neighbor. The pallbearers were Messrs. Harry Chase, Robert Peel, Arthur
McLeod and Maitland Wood. Interment was made beside late father and mother at Poplar Cemetery Mt. Pleasant.
