Obit (1996) - Dr. Cyril Rodger MATTINSON

I don't think the following obituary has been posted before:

Feb. 5, 1996 Halifax Chronicle Herald:
MATTINSON, Dr. Cyril R. (Cy) - 66, Coldbrook, Kings Co., died February 4, 1996, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.  Born in Mount Pleasant, he was a son of Loran Mattinson, Amherst, and the late Verna (MacDonald) Mattinson.  He graduated from Queens University in 1950 with a geological engineering degree and was awarded a Ph.D. at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, and McGill University, Montreal.  He was employed as a geologist with Shell Oil for several years, retiring in 1984.  He was an avid bridge player.  Surviving are his wife, the former Rita LeBlanc; daughters, Jennifer (Mrs. Terry Fischer), Brampton, Ont.; April Mattinson, Kingston, Ont.; sister, Ghlee (Mrs. Alien Doncaster), Amherst; uncle, Dennis Mattinson, Mount Pleasant; stepmother, Beatrice (Babcock) Mattinson.  Burial at a later date in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
