OXFORD - Carl Edmond Mattison, 74, of Mount Pleasant, Cumberland County, died Monday in All Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born in Mount Pleasant, he was a son of the late Edmond and Lily (Simpson) Mattison. He was employed for a number of years in Labrador, Northern Ontario, the Baffin Islands and Yellowknife and in later years was employed as a stationary engineer in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst, prior to his retirement. He was a tenor singer and member of the SPEBSQSA barbershop quartet and was a tenor singer in the Roadrunner Quartet. He was an adherent of the Calvary United Church, Mount Pleasant.
Surviving are a daughter Isobel (Billie) (Mrs. Keith Broadwood), New Haven, Conn.; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Mixon, Derry, New Hampshire, and Mrs. Marjorie Cloney, Oxford, a brother Robert (Robbie), Mount Pleasant. He was predeceased by a sister Nina. The body is in Allen's Funeral Home, Oxford, where service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Edgar Patriquin officiating, with burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mount Pleasant Cemetery memorial fund or any charity.
