It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Ruean Shirley Goodwin (Adams), 84, of Amherst on September 9, 2012 at the Dr.-Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital in Moncton, NB. She was surrounded by her loving family. Ruean was the daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude (Boutlier) Adams of Springhill Jct. Ruean loved watching her television, listening to old music and catching up on all the celebrity gossips magazines. Ruean is survived by her two sons, Jack (Sandy) Lowther of Framingham, Mass., and Art (Pauline) Lowther of Amherst; She will be missed by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ruean is also survived by her brother, Charlie (Grace) Adams of Moncton NB; and sisters, Francis (Donnie) Fowler of Moncton NB and Margaret Hurley of Amherst; as well as her special niece, Cindy Gibbons along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. Ruean was predeceased by her first husband, Gerald “Babe” Lowther; second husband, Robert
Goodwin; son, David Lowther; also seven brothers, Jack, Doug, Roy, Dan, Gerald, Bobby, and Art; four sisters, Connie, Orie, Norma and Ruth. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst (667-9906). Memorial contributions in Ruean’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice. ADAMS, Arthur A. - The death of Arthur Adams of Salisbury Road, Moncton, occurred in the Moncton Hospital, Sunday, December 15, 2002. Art was born in Springhill Junction, the youngest son of the late Robert and Gertrude (Boutilier) Adams. Art is survived by his wife, Myrna (MacKenzie); sons, Brian (Kim Samson), Jeff, Keith (Elizabeth Goodridge); daughter, Carolyn (Neil Andrews); grandsons, James and Shea Adams; siblings, Orrie (Blank), Norma (Wortman), Doug, Charlie, Gerald, Frances (Fowler), all of Moncton; Margaret (Hurley), Macaan; Ruean (Goodwin), Amherst; Ruth (MacKay), Petawawa, Ont. He was predeceased by brothers, Bobby, Dan, Roy, Jack; sister, Connie. Art worked at Fair Haven Funeral Home for the past eight years after retiring from General Motors with 35 years of service. He served as well in the Canadian Air Force for three years. He was an avid hockey player in the late 40s and 50s, notably with the Dieppe Goats. Art was a member of Brentwood
United Baptist Church serving on the Board of Trustee's, the Brentwood Choir, as well as soloist and member of the music ensemble "Praise". Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today, a "Service of Celebration" of Art's life will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, both in Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Rd., Moncton (506-852-3530), with reception to follow in the Garden View Room. Orrie L. Blank, 92, of The Briarlea, Moncton, with her loving family at her side, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, May 22, 2009. Born in Springhill Junction, NS, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Gertrude (Boutlier) Adams. Orrie was retired from the T. Eaton Company Ltd., member of Wesley Memorial United Church and the UCW. She enjoyed music, dancing, travelling, was an excellent cook, but first and foremost was spending quality time with her family and friends. ADAMS, GERALD A. - 1923-2009 - Gerald Adams of Moncton passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the War Veterans Health Center. Born in Springhill Junction, NS on March 18, 1923 he was the son of the late Robert and Gertrude (Boutilier) Adams. Gerald served overseas from 1941-1945 in England, Belgium and Holland with the RCAF service core. He was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6. He retired from the CN Freight Express with 38 years service. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Claudia (Whalen) Adams; daughter, Valerie Anne Adams of Moncton; grandchildren, Robyn (Jamie) Peddle of St. John's, NF, Leanne Lacey (at home), Ted Lacey of St. John's, NF, James (Meaghan) Lacey of St. John's NF; son in law Ted Lacey of Torbay, NF; sisters, Margaret, Rowen, both of Amherst and Frances of Moncton; brother, Charles of Moncton. He was predeceased by his youngest daughter, Linda Dawn Lacey in July 2008; brothers, Roy, Jack, Dan, Douglas,
Bobby, and Art; sisters, Orie, Norma, Ruth and Connie. There will be no visitation by personal request. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be held at Our Lady of Calvery Roman Catholic Church at a later date. In Gerald's memory, donations made to the Alzheimers Society of South East, NB, or the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Auffrey and the wonderful staff at the Veterans Health Center for their excellent care given to Gerald.
